What volunteering means to me

A huge part of my life has involved giving back to my community. I have volunteered for everything from animal rescue/foster to handing out winter coats to the homeless population. Currently, my volunteer work involves Toastmasters, where I am the current President, 2moms, which I founded, and helps children go back to school with brand new backpacks, and Habitat for Humanity of Grays Harbor, where I have the honor to both work and volunteer for. For me volunteering is a passion. If I am not helping I am not happy. volunteering makes me feel whole and it makes me feel needed. I love being a part of my community and seeing the results from my hard work and from the hard work of others. When I see a community come together for a specific need, it is exciting to me. It helps me to remember that I am not alone, because my community will have my back. I like knowing that others do not have to feel alone, because myself and hundreds of other volunteers will work together the best that we can to help in any way possible. To me volunteering means that I am home. I am excited to be a lifelong resident of Grays Harbor and lifelong volunteer for all existing causes and future causes to come.
